Open Call Graz

Dear Faces,

During 2017, Faces celebrates 20 years as an online community of women, working in art, gender and technology. As one of many events planned during the year, a gathering of Faces members will take place in Austria at Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz, 13-15 October. This gathering will continue Faces traditions, including an exhibition, performances, discussions, open mic presentations, and the sharing of a meal. The gathering continues our practice of bringing women together in real life as well as online. Eva Ursprung and I are curating the event, and we would like to know who is interested to participate.

While we hope to be inclusive, we are working with limited resources, and we are doing our best to provide the best conditions possible.

We invite you to send us a short description about what you would like to contribute, including the technical and space requirements (space is no problem), and one or more images or a link to your work online. We are also looking forward to remote participation!  We will know more about the conditions by the beginning of June, and would appreciate getting your proposal by June 10.  We will publish an event schedule by early July.

We also want you to know that from 16-20 October, the International Festival of Computer Arts IFCA takes place in Maribor (Slovenia) about 70 kilometers from Graz. They will cooperate with this Graz event, and present a selection of video or computer works from the Faces exhibition.
